Acknowledgement of Country

Culturally Nourishing Schooling (CNS) acknowledges the Traditional Owners
throughout Australia and their continuing connection to Country and Community.
We pay our respects to Elders past and present and recognise their contribution
to this land, to Indigenous education and to Australian society.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the First Peoples of Australia.
When the terms Aboriginal or Indigenous are used on this website, it refers to the First Peoples of Australia.
We acknowledge that these terms arose within colonial circumstances.

Culturally Nourishing Schooling is investigating professional learning strategies for teachers to transform schooling and improve educational outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

These strategies work together to support schools to build collaborative relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, their families and communities, to learn about Country and culture, and to incorporate Indigenous knowledges, histories and languages into teaching and learning.
